Look Awake! The Low Maintenance Face

Aside from the whole face washing, eye brow plucking this is a great how-to on ways to look fresh and it is pretty low maintenance. You can do all or a few of the steps on any given day.

Some things that I love to look more awake-

-Small dot of Nars Illuminator on my cheekbones. Add a bit of that and you get a nice glow that stays all day. One tube lasts all year.

-Curling my eyelashes and adding a lash lengthening mascara like Cover Girl LashBlast Luxe.

-CONCEALER! Do I really need to say this? It's the first thing on my list. I adore Bare Escentuals bare Minerals Multi-Tasking Face in 'Rested'. That name alone is a selling point to me and many moms. It's easy to apply, takes seconds, lasts all day and a long time in your make-up bag. READ: Economical! I use it on red spots, age spots and acne. LOVE IT.

-Adding a coat of lipstick. It may sound old-fashioned but I am like your grandmother when it comes to the adage, "Never leave the house without lipstick." Use a coat of colored lipgloss if you prefer. My faves: L'Oreal Colour Riche in 'Rich Red' and Laura Mercier lip glace in 'Rose' for a pop of pink.

Can You Dig It? I Hope So

Part of a new series that I'm doing, "Dig. Don't Dig" is a short segment of products I've found that I like and sometimes don't like. There will be a bit of a crossing over with between Mummy's Product Reviews (MPR) and The Mummy Chronicles in the coming year as changes unfold for both of them.

Where's Mummy?

I've returned from visiting my Dad this weekend as he finally got discharged from the hospital.  We don't know what is wrong technically, but we do know that it isn't life threatening.  Yeah!  Thank you to everyone who sent good wishes, prayers, hugs, tweets, and FB messages to me over the last few days. They were a great comfort to all of us.

I'm hosting a manners party for little girls at my house this weekend. Why yes, I am wearing a floral dress and just had my hair set. Why do you ask? I have three girls, I'm the etiquette bitch and my brood needs to know the importance of writing timely thank you notes and how to set a table. TD does get an allowance for that after all.

Ah, the Northern Neck. A place of supreme relaxation for me and my family. We venture down here as often as possible and I get a few seaside runs every chance I get.

Getting freaked out in elementary school's while I register my kid for kindergarten. Really?  You need the actual deed to my house and not just a cable bill?  Sheesh!  I'm heading to Great Wolf Lodge this weekend with my family as I take part in the Reviewer's Retreat.  I'm excited, apprehensive about mixing family fun times with business and then excited all over again.

Where's Mummy?

My mind is all about my upcoming trip to Kentucky for work this week and taking TD to the doctor to see what we can do about the tantrums.  So far we've developed pie charts.  Don't laugh.  It's true. We sat her down on Sunday and drew diagrams of how her tantrums effect the house and don't give her what she wants.  The pie charts showed her the time she has in the day and the activities she has as well as how it works for us, her parents.  It seemed to sink in better than us just yammering away at her.  We'll see.  I'm crossing every finger and toe right now and saying a bunch of huge prayers that we have jumped over this giant hurdle.

Other than all that- whew!- I'm busy with another giveaway at MPR. It's all about spring renewal- with nail polish, body wash and more!

Where's Mummy?

Under a pile of slushy snow that's where I am.  Oh, my little broken body!  All the shoveling,  all the men on my block who watched me shovel out my husband's parking space (I'm nice like that) while he was away for work and didn't lift a finger. I'm not bitter.  Other than the freak snow, sleet, hail and lightening storm we had this week I've been doing this-

Where's Mummy?

While you all have been enjoying first snows, holiday extravaganza's and foods I've been puking them up with a bout of food poisoning. I said I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy but I think I actually might, just for a much longer duration.  I'm sure H is quite done with emptying puke receptacles and applying cold compresses to my neck as I yell, "H! MAKE IT END!" over and over again.  One good thing as Lattes and Life pointed out, I'm down a few more baby weight pounds.  Now that is a happy holiday gift to me!  A few more weeks of shredding and I should be pre-Fifth Element weight.
