What's Your Dorkitude?

Amy Dickinson, from the advice column 'Ask Amy', says she possesses 'dorkitude'. I like the feel of the needle entering my skin just as I'm about to have blood drawn. Maybe that isn't 'dorkitude' so much as just a bit of the freak in me.

J'adore Presidential history. When I was a kid I had my encyclopedia's bookmarked on all the Presidents, had a giant Presidential poster that I would read each day and liked to frequently sprinkle Presidential factoids into everyday conversation. If that isn't dorkitude, I don't know what is.

I just used 'j'adore' to talk about Presidential history. That really should have been sufficient.

I have my own version of the 'Elaine' dance that I break out when I want to really make H squirm.

I still buy history text books at used book stores for use during my 'free reading' time. Currently in the pile? 'The New England Mind-From Colony to Province'

It doesn't feel like a Saturday morning in my house unless NPR is blaring away somewhere with 'Car Talk', 'Wait, wait... don't tell me' and 'This American Life'. Don't let me forget 'Splendid Table' either. Seriously, if it is not on I feel like I've missed my fifth cup of coffee or breathing.

Really, there is much dorkitude lurking in me so before I divulge all of it- spill some of yours...

Womb to Bloom has me listed as a "Friday Fantastic Five"- Aww... shucks. I feel so honored. Thank you.

  1. I'm right there with you on the NPR dorkitude. In fact, last year for my bday, my MIL got me tickets to a WAMU fundraiser with Lynne Rossetto Kasper. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

  2. I am obsessed with the show Deadliest Catch. If I catch a marathon (and I do believe it only airs in marathons) I'm stuck for the day. I've never been to Alaska...never been on a crabbing boat...don't even particularly enjoy fishing. There you have it.

I listen to banjo music. Lots of it. And I can't stop reading Stephen Hawking, or books about the Universe in general....

  5. Besides the fact that I adore Bravo Reality television and blog on seven (or more) different websites?

I listen to sports talk radio.

I rearrange the 459 movies in my Netflix Queue several times a day.
