Have You Seen My Marbles?

Yeah... soo... I'm officially insane. All cracked out. Incredibly dumb even.

I bought Christmas cards. And the stamps to go with them. I actually created and ordered these things and really thought- "Yeah, sure, I'll have time to do these." Um.. when? When I'm pumping and trying not to fall asleep? At the 1:30 a.m. or 4:30 a.m. feeding? How about while I'm answering TD's 800 questions while feeding Dash Two and trying to make dinner? I have another hand to stuff those envelopes I'm sure of it! Hm.. so many choices I don't know if I can possibly decide. I just have so much free time on my hands.

Hey wait! Maybe, I'll make H do them this year! So instead of talking to his Fantasy Football BFF's he can address envelopes and make some fudge while he's at it. Maybe he can even pick up TD's teachers gifts and wrap them up with the homemade peppermint bark I was planning on making too.

I think I just peed myself from laughing.

    1. No cards, everyone just gets a mass Christmas email.
    2. Gift = card with cash money.
    3. Homemade baked good = store bought, then messed-up to made to look homemade.
    4. All done while crying about the lose in my Fantasy Football League.
    5. H out!

  2. I remember the Christmas after Aiden was born (he was born 11/16, so I was pretty much in your shoes). It was SO hard to get it all done. Obviously, I didn't have a toddler to tend to at the same time...which I'm sure ups the ante.

That year we had very little money for gifts too, since I had just quit working and Wayne was still hauling concrete. All my gifts were homemade (foods, bath salts, soaps, etc). It was a STRUGGLE to get it all done. What helped is when Wayne just took off with the baby for a few hours, a few times....and I just scurried around knocking things out. I also snuck out to a local scrapbook store for a Christmas card class, and got all my cards done at once.

As for dinner...I did cheap and easy, or a few times Wayne picked something up. It wasn't my favorite Holiday season, but it was the only way I survived. Shoot, even last year Wayne took off with Aiden a few times so I could focus on Christmas stuff.

So hang in there...and enlist your hubs for kid duty a few times between now and then. It'll all come together eventually!

Also - didn't we warn you about two kids?

  4. TD must be old enough to stuff envelopes and stick stamps. Let her start earning her keep!
