Don't Mind the Sign of The Pox on Our Door

Because our house should be quarantined right now I bring you the "I'm Thankful For" edition of The Mummy Chronicles early this year. It's the week of the Turkey anyway, right? I'm not that blitzed out on Afrin and other cold meds to be a total mess.

I'm thankful for my family who has taken care of TD, Dash Two, H and I for about a week now. I'm still dealing with this 'ferocious beast' of a head cold and so is TD. I have been sent to bed to while away the day (Grey's Anatomy via laptop anyone?) while my parents tackle the following things.

-A cleaned humidifier to circulate healthy air in our El sicko abode. Thanks Dad!

-Numerous trips to the store for cold and food supplies by both parents.

-One clean tea kettle that looks brand new. I confess I had no idea it was that dirty. Apparently New Englanders cannot abide by that type of filth with their numerous cups of tea.

-The inside of my dishwasher is spotless. Not just the outside for appearances only clean anymore!

-Piles of laundry- cleaned and folded! Did I mention put away as well? The laundry monster has been beaten back with a stick for now all courtesy of my Mother.

-TD's dresser is organized to a T. Not just pants in one draw, shirts in another.

There's more. Loads more. From big things to little we are so well cared for and loved it is ridiculous. Ridiculously touching, needed and the best thing I could ask for right now. Well, that and that Dash Two passes her hearing test on Wednesday. More on that at a later date.

If I don't get better by the time the Macy's Day balloons are floating in NYC the placecards on my Thanksgiving Day table will be bottles of Dayquil with Nyquil chasers. The table will be adorned with paper surgical masks tucked neatly into napkin rings while we all drink a toast to each other with Airborne fizzy drinks.

  3. Oh, I am jealous that you have such great parents willing to nurse you all back to health, but what horrible timing.
I think my parents are the cause of most of my illness and discomfort. Heh.
Hopefully you feel better quickly to enjoy those first weeks of dash 2's orientation to the great outside. :)
